Food Security in Crisis: Hot Meals, Food Parcels, and Nutritional Support
Highlights
In times of crisis, access to nutritious food is essential for survival and wellbeing—especially for displaced families and vulnerable communities. At Sharek Youth Forum, we respond to urgent food insecurity through rapid, community-based delivery systems that prioritize dignity, reach, and timely support.
Implemented in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) and other key organizations, Sharek’s food assistance interventions combine immediate relief with practical support that helps families sustain daily nutrition during prolonged emergencies.
Hot Meals: Rapid Support When Families Need It Most
Through a coordinated emergency response, Sharek and partners have distributed 8 million hot meals to displaced families across Palestine. Meals are delivered through community-based channels including community kitchens, food banks, and direct meal delivery, reaching shelters and crisis-affected areas where families have limited resources to cook or secure food.
A key part of this response is the operation of Sharek Kitchens—a network of community kitchens where meals are prepared and packaged for distribution.

Food Parcels: Supporting Families Beyond Immediate Relief
In addition to hot meals, Sharek has distributed more than 200,000 food parcels containing flour, vegetables, and essential items. These parcels help families prepare meals at home and support food access beyond emergency meal distribution.
Nutritional Supplements: Protecting Those Most at Risk
Recognizing higher nutritional needs in emergency settings, Sharek also provides nutritional supplements for:
