Life Skills Training

Life skills are essential for young people to succeed—not only in the workplace, but in everyday life and community engagement. Through its programmes, Sharek Youth Forum uses a set of internationally recognized, practical curricula to equip participants with competencies that support personal growth, employability, entrepreneurship, and responsible citizenship.

Our approach is interactive and experience-based, ensuring that youth do not only learn concepts, but practice and apply them through real activities, group work, and hands-on exercises.

Key Life Skills Curricula and Modules

Passport to Success (PTS)

PTS is a structured curriculum focused on six key areas:

  • Personal Development: building self-confidence, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence
  • Problem-Solving: strengthening critical thinking and decision-making
  • Healthy Lifestyles: promoting physical and mental wellbeing
  • Workplace Success: developing professional ethics, teamwork, and communication
  • Entrepreneurship and Professional Growth: encouraging initiative, innovation, and business readiness
  • Service-Learning: fostering social responsibility and community contribution

PTS is delivered through interactive, experiential learning, enabling participants to translate skills into real-life behavior and workplace readiness.

I: SERVE (Civic Engagement and Leadership)

I: SERVE strengthens youth capacity to lead and contribute to their communities by:

  • building leadership, project management, and advocacy skills
  • encouraging active citizenship and volunteerism
  • enabling youth to identify local challenges and respond through community initiatives
  • developing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving through hands-on projects

My Career, My Future (Career Guidance)

This programme helps youth explore career pathways and understand labor market needs through three core areas:

  • Self-awareness: identifying strengths, interests, and aspirations
  • Knowledge of the environment: understanding sectors, trends, and opportunities
  • Professional development: setting realistic goals and overcoming career challenges

Participants receive tools and guidance to support long-term planning and informed decision-making.

Build Your Business (BYB)

BYB introduces youth to entrepreneurship fundamentals and small business management, including:

  • market analysis and customer understanding
  • financial planning and budgeting
  • business operations and growth planning

The programme uses interactive learning methods—case studies, simulations, and practical exercises—to help participants develop business plans and prepare for real entrepreneurial challenges.

Practical Business English

This module supports youth to communicate effectively in professional environments by focusing on:

  • business correspondence and workplace communication
  • professional presentations and speaking skills
  • confidence in engaging with international clients, vendors, and employers

Why This Matters

These life skills curricula ensure that participants gain more than technical knowledge. They develop the competencies employers value—communication, teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving—while also building the mindset needed for entrepreneurship, leadership, and civic engagement.
