The Integrity School

A National Platform for Youth-Led Social Accountability and Policy Influence

For the twelfth consecutive year, the Integrity School has served as a leading platform that equips young people with knowledge, practical skills, and real opportunities to engage in public life. The programme enables youth to participate meaningfully in their communities, influence decision-making and public policies, and strengthen social accountability—contributing to better governance, stronger public financial management, and improved service delivery, especially for the most disadvantaged and marginalized groups.

Partnership and Purpose

Since its launch, the Integrity School has been jointly organized by the AMAN Coalition and Sharek Youth Forum, grounded in a shared belief that integrity, transparency, and accountability are essential for protecting public institutions from corruption risks and ensuring that services are delivered in the public interest. The programme promotes the principle that citizens—especially youth—have the right and the capacity to hold service providers accountable and to contribute to better public performance through constructive, informed engagement.

What the Integrity School Builds

The Integrity School strengthens youth capacity in areas such as:

  • principles of governance and integrity
  • anti-corruption concepts and mechanisms
  • social accountability tools and citizen oversight
  • public financial management awareness
  • evidence-based advocacy and policy engagement

Participants are supported to translate learning into action through structured processes that encourage dialogue, responsible advocacy, and constructive engagement with relevant institutions.

Reach and Results

Over the years, the Integrity School has built the capacities of approximately 500 young women and men from across the West Bank and Jerusalem. Through its editions, the programme has facilitated 300 social accountability sessions using diverse formats and tools—bringing youth into direct engagement with decision-makers and service providers, including government ministries, local councils, security agencies, and public institutions.

Key Issues Addressed

Through youth-led accountability and dialogue, sessions have addressed issues that directly affect everyday life, including:

  • education and health services
  • municipal services and public safety
  • social development, poverty, and rights
  • agriculture and livelihoods
  • consumer protection and emergency preparedness
  • digital safety and cybersecurity awareness
  • public financial management and transparency
  • youth participation and civic engagement

Geographic Inclusion: Reaching Communities Most in Need

A core strength of the Integrity School is its wide and inclusive geographic reach. The programme has engaged youth from cities, villages, and refugee camps—while prioritizing underserved and marginalized areas such as the Jordan Valley, northern West Bank, southern Hebron, Masafer Yatta, rural communities, and Bedouin communities.

Why It Matters

The Integrity School contributes to building a generation of youth leaders who are informed, skilled, and capable of constructive civic action. By combining capacity building with real engagement spaces, the programme supports youth to:

  • identify community challenges and analyze public policy gaps
  • engage responsibly with institutions and service providers
  • lead grassroots initiatives and promote accountability
  • contribute to more transparent governance and stronger public services
