Sharek Youth Forum: Opening of Kafr Ni’ma Valley Gate Marks First Step to End Harassment

Press Release – For Immediate Publication Sharek Youth Forum has just been informed by the Palestinian Military Liaison of the decision to open the gate that had been installed at the entrance of the valley, and that steps will be taken to remove it, as a first measure toward ending this unlawful and coercive action. We firmly affirm that our right to our village, to the Road of Hope, and safe access to our lands is an inherent, inalienable right that is not subject to any condition or restriction. This right is guaranteed under international law, particularly international humanitarian law, which prohibits collective punishment and criminalizes the obstruction of civilians’ access to their lands and livelihoods. The Forum emphasizes that it will continue to work, alongside the Village Council, national institutions, and partners, to ensure that all farmers can safely return to their lands without harassment or attacks by settlers, in a manner that safeguards civilians and their right to live with dignity on their own land. We are the rightful owners of this land, and our message is peaceful, clear, and legitimate. It fully aligns with the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as the legitimate struggle of our people to defend their land, existence, and dignity.
