Strong Woman "On the Bicycle"
In light of the hardships faced by Palestinian women—especially those living in areas threatened with land confiscation and lacking the most basic elements of a safe life—women are constantly striving to provide the essentials for a dignified life for their families and communities. As a result, the burdens of life on them increase. Despite these challenging conditions, the Palestinian woman remains strong.
On the occasion of International Women's Day and Women's Month more broadly, 16 young Palestinian female leaders set out on a bicycle journey to visit Bedouin areas in the Jordan Valley. The group started in the village of Al-Aqaba, passing through Ain al-Bayda, and continued to Al-Maleh and Khirbet Makhoul.
It was a day full of stories, concerns, and events—beautiful, heartbreaking, and inspiring. These moments offered the young female leaders insights and reflections on what initiatives could help ease life for Palestinian girls in these areas. In addition, the young women are committed to amplifying women's voices in these communities and delivering their messages to the broader public.
The initiative reached 3,576 people through social media platforms and short documentary videos created by the 16 young leaders. These efforts highlighted the lives of women in the Jordan Valley, the challenges they face in Bedouin communities, the difficulties they face in accessing public services, and how these realities affect women's daily lives.
