Our Flag Initiative

Since our people have had a strong awareness of raising the Palestinian flag in their homes and decorating them with it during occasions and celebrations and embroidering their traditional dresses with its colors, the occupation has repeatedly tried to prevent its display through various means. The Palestinian flag continues to be confiscated by the Israeli authorities, and its display in homes or during marches and protests against the occupation is often banned. Many Palestinians have been arrested on the charge of raising the Palestinian flag. During the 1987 Intifada, the flag was secretly sewn away from the eyes of the occupation. Our people continue to pay the price for their commitment to the flag as a symbol of the Palestinian state. The Palestinian flag will remain proudly raised, as proud as the mountains of Jerusalem, Nablus, and Galilee. It will remain a part of our joy and the farewell to our martyrs, and it will stay the adornment of the nations with its four colors.

To affirm this, Sharek Youth Forum launched the "Our Flag" initiative, which aims to preserve the flag's image for future generations through a series of activities and public events. This culminated in the raising of the Palestinian flag on Land Day in more than 300 locations across Palestine, including schools, government offices, ministries, institutions, companies, and public squares.

The initiative included an event where participants painted the Palestinian flag on fabric and toured several Palestinian universities. There was also a competition for the best painting and the most beautiful photo of the flag.
