Qalqilya Initiatives

1. “Jerusalem, My Beloved” – Qalqilya
Initiated by Raghda Jabr, this project produced a patriotic song titled “Jerusalem, My Beloved” to fulfill the dream of a young Palestinian singer and share the suffering of Palestinians with the Arab world.

2. Youth Center – Nabi Elias Village
Samah Rabhi, Durgam Akram, Mundher Rizwan, and Rasheed Khalif established a youth center in the marginalized village of Nabi Elias. The center provides a space for youth activities, initiatives, and volunteer work in partnership with the local village council.

3. Educational Support – Hajja Village
Samira Alwan, Yasmin Helan, and Sanaa Bsalat help children in Hajja with their schoolwork, recognizing families’ financial struggles and their inability to afford extra academic support.

5. “Our Duty” – Habla Village
Mohammed Hamad, Abdullah Odeh, and Dawood Jada initiated the renovation of Habla Park and organized a variety of community activities within the space.

6. “Kombaz and Yargoul” – Habla
Murshid and Mohammad Shahwan supported a group of traditional dabkeh dancers, preserving cultural heritage by providing costumes and encouraging their participation in national and community events.

7. “It Doesn’t Have to Stay a Dump” – Kafr Thulth
Mohammad Issa, Amro Shawahneh, and Diyaa Shawahneh worked to clean up and rehabilitate the village entrance, which had become a dumping site, by planting trees, fencing the area, and preventing future dumping.

8. “A Smile of Hope” – Qalqilya & Nablus
Ashraf Khateeb, Rizk Diyab, Amir Dawood, and Sujoud Hawash formed a theatre group to deliver health messages to children through performances, addressing topics like hygiene and positive behaviors.

9. “It’s Our Right to Play” – Qalqilya
Ziad Quraan, Shadi Shtaiwi, Tareq Hilal, and Yousef Al-Adl created a sports group for working children and those not enrolled in clubs. The group organizes sports and volunteer events for community development and youth empowerment.

10. “Education is Their Right” – Habla
Maha Marabeh, Makaber Attal, and Khaled Yaseen established a resource room for children with disabilities and those struggling academically, equipped with necessary tools and run by a dedicated teacher, with community support.

11. Marginalized Villages and the Absence of Institutions – Qalqilya Governorate
Oday Shaqeer, Rasha Nizam, Mustafa Jabr, and Bakr Bishir targeted small and marginalized villages through youth group formation, training, and skill-building. A youth summit was later organized, where participants presented their village challenges to local institutions, encouraging collaboration and implementation of community projects.

12. Children’s Center – Al-Zawiya
Initiated by Haitham and Murad Moqadi, this project established a space that functions as a nursery during the morning and an activity hall in the evening. Two women from the town were involved in managing the center and organizing programs for children.
