Nablus Initiatives

1. “Basmat Al-Aghwar” (Smile of the Jordan Valley): Nablus & the Jordan Valley
Initiated by Mahmoud Nassar, Abeer Abu Shoaib, Ameen Namroti, Ihab Abed, and Maysera Dukan, this initiative created a team of clowns to deliver entertainment shows to children in areas under threat of settlement expansion, villages near the apartheid  wall, and places affected by settler violence. The goal is to provide psychological relief and bring joy to children facing neglect and marginalization.

2. Lighting Homes in Furush Beit Dajan – Nablus & the Jordan Valley
Led by Mays Kazzalak, Awad Abdeljabbar, Shorouq Khateeb, Waleed Aqtash, Hadeel Ubaidat, and Muawiya Nassar, this initiative aims to address the lack of electricity in Furush Beit Dajan. It includes a fun educational camp focused on electricity, breaking the fear barrier, and engaging stakeholders in finding sustainable solutions.

3. “Preserve Your Heritage” – Odala Village
Initiated by Doaa Rasheed and Hanaa Sarhan, this initiative focuses on reviving and promoting traditional Palestinian heritage through handmade crafts, especially by teaching these skills to girls and women in the community.

4. Psychological Relief Through Music – Nablus
Led by Mahmoud Shama, this initiative uses music as a form of emotional expression and healing for children. It encourages children to create and compose their own songs as a therapeutic activity.

5. “Jusour” (Bridges) – Nablus and Al-Ain Refugee Camp
Initiated by Sama Shaaban and Omar Buzia, the initiative provides educational and recreational activities through music and drama-based summer programs for children in Nablus and its camps.

6. Tutoring Children of Prisoners
Ashraf Abdah developed this initiative after meeting with wives of prisoners who shared concerns about their children’s academic struggles and their inability to afford tutoring. he began offering academic support to the children in subjects where they needed improvement.

7. “My Wish” – Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin
Ibbaa Mar’i, Firas Abu Sultan, and Alaa Al-Hussein launched this initiative to listen to and fulfil the dreams of orphaned children wherever possible, bringing happiness and hope to their lives.

8. “No to Migration” – Nablus
Moayyad Al-Shakhsheer used his musical talent to advocate for national values and discourage youth from leaving the country, creating a song and music video to inspire pride and hope.

9. Arabic Language and Literacy Center – Surra Village
Walaa Qusini initiated a center to teach Arabic grammar and literacy to children aged 10–15, and to help elderly residents learn reading and writing skills.

10. Traffic Awareness – Nablus
In response to increasing road accidents due to traffic law violations, Adel Abu Zant and his team (Rania, Azza, Qais, and Ahmad) launched an awareness campaign to educate the public about road safety and driving ethics.

11. Mobile Library – Villages of Nablus
Aruba Turabi, Walaa Qusini, and Kifaya Khader initiated a campaign to collect and organize books in a publicly accessible space, offering free books to all community members to promote reading and education.

12. “Mink Ahla” (You’re More Beautiful) – Nablus
Sondos Abu Zant, Ruba Faqih, and Afnan Hamad focused on raising awareness about breast cancer among women, including self-examination techniques, prevention, and treatment options.

13. “Be a Distinguished Media Professional” – Nablus
Ahmed Al-Sheikh Khalil launched this initiative to empower young journalists through media workshops and seminars to improve the quality of journalism and reporting among youth.

14. “Hani Amer’s Home” – Mas-ha Village
Raya Jabr, Raafat Haseeba, Yasmin Fakhr Eddin, and Israa Sbeih aim to support Hani Amer, a man living in isolation near a settlement, by organizing campaigns and activities to promote his resilience and right to remain in his home.
