Field outreach
Combining partnership with local communities and geographic distribution
The success and
popularity of Sharek's projects, events and activities all over the West
Bank and the Gaza Strip could not have been achieved without the
constant collaboration with local partners. In fact, Sharek in order to
reach the widest range of final beneficiaries as well as to develop a
broader view of the Palestinian civil society has built up partnership
with a high number of local and national actors. Among the others,
Sharek counts as partner municipalities, NGO’s, community-based
organizations, Universities and colleges, professional associations,
governmental institutions and actors in the private sectors. This large
network has allowed Sharek to spread its programs and activities widely
reaching also the most rural, remote and marginalized areas. Also,
through the cooperation with our local partners we could better relate
to the problems and needs of youth beneficiaries in the field and
consequently translate them into effective development programs.
Partnership with municipalities:

Hebron Municipality:
Sharek Forum
maintains a 5-year partnership and collaboration agreement with the
Municipality to implement a series of developmental programs and
projects through the Child Happiness Center and Sharek Youth Forum. In
addition, the municipality hosts the Youth Work Development Unit

Nablus Municipality:
The Forum maintains a 2-year partnership and collaboration agreement
with the Municipality to implement a number of programs and projects
aimed at developing the skills of children and youth through a number of
several activities conducted in Hamdi Minko Center.

The Forum maintains
a partnership agreement with the Municipality to develop and expand the
children's playground, in addition to establishing and equipping a
community center for children and youth.

Jenin Municipality:
The Forum maintains
a strategic relationship with Jenin Municipality since 1999, when the
Municipality hosted the Jenin Municipality Youth Center "Sharek", in
addition to joint work in programs and projects aimed at developing the
skills of children and youth in the city. Additionally, the Forum
maintains a 3-year partnership and cooperation agreement with the
Municipality to implement several developmental programs and projects.

the aim to provide job opportunities for the Palestinian youth in

Since 2004, Sharek Forum has worked in partnership with the municipality
to provide the best services to children and youth in the area by
establishing the computer community center for children and youth with
the aim of upgrading the capacity of children and youth in the field of
information technology. The Forum maintains a one-year partnership and
cooperation agreement with the municipality regarding the operation of
the center.

municipality since 2006 to implement several projects aimed at
developing the capacity of children and youth in the field of
information technology through the Information Technology center run by
the municipality.

Arraba Municipality:
In the beginning of
2005, UNDP completed renovation works on the archeological sites of
Abdul-Hadi palaces in Arraba town in order to transform them to a
community center for children and youth under the supervision of the
municipality. The new center was named "Arraba Youth Center – Sharek".
Since then, Sharek Forum and Arraba Municipality joined efforts in
operating the Center for the benefit of youth, children and the entire
community through several programs and projects. The Forum maintains a
five-year partnership agreement with Arraba Municipality.

Jericho Municipality:
Sharek Forum and Jericho Municipality have cooperated since 2006 in the
implementation of several programs and projects through the child center
run by the municipality to develop children's capacity in various
aspects. Major achievements include the establishment of a homework
center, the implementation of projects to develop children's capacity in
information technology, in addition to supporting the different
activities of the Center. Sharek Forum maintains a one-year agreement of
partnership and cooperation with the municipality.

homework center is being equipped and children's activities are being
implemented in the field of technology. In addition, the Municipality
hosts the Youth Action Development Unit in Rafah.
