In the presence of youth, journalists, representatives from the NGOs, the private sector and donor institutions, Sharek Youth Forum called the Palestinian government, civil society organisations, donors and the Palestinian private sector for the implementation of the Youth Employment Action Plan in Ramallah.

January 8, 2012, Ramallah - Sharek Youth Forum instigated the process of the development of a comprehensive action plan to address the challenges of youth economic participation. The five core problems identified in the youth employment action plan are: poor economic performance, gender inequality, exclusion from entrepreneurial opportunity, education and training and barriers created by the system. There needs to be cohesion among labor policy, education, civil society and the economic sector itself.

Mr. Bader Zamareh, Executive Director of Sharek, have reviewed the results of the plan and identified the key challenges related to the implementation considering responsible debate among the various players in Palestinian society.

There have also been calls for the Palestinian sectors to increase the capacity of the labour market and to review the economic situation by advocating to remove the barriers for investments.
