Sharek Youth Forum and Radio Ajyal Launch a training program for young women in Ramallah

- Sharek Youth Forum launched, in partnership with Radio Ajyal and with funding from the Swiss Agency for Development, an Information Technology program for rural girls, relying on the evolutionary philosophy of the Palestinian society and its members from young men and women, for the sake of eliminating computer illiteracy spreading densely in the Palestinian society. This program will help familiarize the young ladies with computers and technology on behalf of developing their abilities and thus facilitating access to information and presenting an opportunity to benefit from computer programs and Internet software in all aspects of life.

The Forum worked towards setting up a chain of computer centers in various areas of the occupied Palestinian territory aiming for the integration of the Palestinian youth component and women living with the spirit of the times, enriching the knowledge of the Palestinian community, developing the informational capacity of the youth, supporting the creations of the youth, and maintaining the development of individual skills for the sake of sustaining the Palestinian society itself through partnership with municipalities and local councils as one of the groups benefiting from this program.

For his part, Adel Saba'neh, the project coordinator, pointed that the work will focus on the empowerment of girls participating (18 altogether) on the use of computers in various aspects of their lives.

Masoon Manasra, a representative at Radio Ajyal who has participated in pursuing the project and has made announcements through her radio show to the groups of interest, stated “the ladies and mothers are dependent on the program to develop their abilities and knowledge through this national project that we hope will reach all of the centers and organizations, I would like this project to be continuous between us and Sharek to be able to provide services and community contributions to all segments of our society”.

 

Not forgetting to mention that Sharek is working on the recruitment for information technology and its different application through it’s “Shababeek” program which is implemented in partnership with the Welfare Association which is a means of teaching the curriculum and co curriculum through exposing children to a range of experiences, skills and practical experiences of educational and recreational where the output is  knowledge, education and life skills that can contribute to the formation and development of a better way of life. The objective of the project was achieved through the Futurekids program which is aimed at enabling children to use advanced technology in their daily lives to expand the horizons of knowledge and ability and promote excellence and technology in the development of the educational process in schools. Clubhouse project aimed at providing an innovative and safe learning after school and allows the establishment of projects for young people in communities which do not have adequate services to work with teachers to explore ideas, develop their skills and build confidence in themselves through the use of technology in a project that contributes to the development of the capabilities and skills of Palestinian children in the field of information technology and the use of the computer as well as applying these skills in their day to day lives.
