Why
Not? Project:
Youth Internet Exchange Project:
Project Overview
"Why Not?"
project aims to increase the cross-cultural awareness and understanding
of Palestinian and American Youth. This is achieved through different
activities or stages. Firstly though, two groups of students were
formed, one from either the West Bank or Gaza Strip and another from the
USA. Depending on the groups in question, and what they wish to do,
different activities are implemented. The following are examples of the
activities enjoyed by the different groups;
Both groups complete
a questionnaire about themselves
which is then exchanged between the two groups so that they can get to
know each other better.
Another activity
consists of writing a small poem entitled "I'm From" to be posted
on a website so that all participants could view each others poems and
make comments on them.
The groups are also
given the opportunity to produce a short film of five minutes about a
topic or issue that they feel is important to them or that they wanted
to talk about.

Other activities
include letter writing, photo exhibitions and wall paintings or murals.

students are responsible for all aspects of the film production
